Want to take your soap creations to the next level? Botanical embed soaps are stunning, fragrant, and surprisingly easy to make using melt & pour techniques. These soaps don’t just look good — they deliver a spa-like experience right at home.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to create clear botanical soaps using herbs and flowers for that luxurious, handcrafted touch.
✅ Clear Melt & Pour Soap Base
✅ Dried Botanicals (e.g., lavender buds, calendula petals, rose buds)
✅ Fragrance or Essential Oils
✅ Silicone Soap Mold
✅ Rubbing Alcohol in Spray Bottle
✅ Heatproof Measuring Pitcher
✅ Stirring Stick or Spatula
Cut your clear soap base into cubes and melt it in a microwave-safe pitcher in 20-30 second bursts. Stir until completely liquefied.
Once melted, let the soap cool slightly (around 125°F), then add your chosen fragrance oil. Stir gently.
✨ Try this combo:
Lavender Oil + Lavender Buds for calm
Rose Oil + Rose Petals for romance
Lemongrass + Calendula Petals for freshness
Lightly sprinkle a layer of dried botanicals into the bottom of each mold cavity. You can also press some petals against the sides if you want a "floating" look.
Slowly pour the soap mixture into the mold over the botanicals. Lightly spritz the surface with rubbing alcohol to eliminate bubbles.
Allow the soap to harden at room temperature for about 1–2 hours. Avoid moving the mold to prevent cracking or layering issues.
Gently remove the soaps from the mold. For gifting or storing, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap to prevent sweating.
Use clear base for better visibility of botanicals.
Don’t overload with herbs — too many may make the soap scratchy.
Add a tiny pinch of mica powder for a shimmer effect.
Store botanicals in a dry place to prevent browning over time.
